Academic Advisor
UNC Charlotte is hiring an Academic Advisor. The role involves engaging students in personal development and academic self-assessment, guiding them in managing their academic success, and supporting their exploration of majors and career development plans. Advisors independently work with assigned students across various colleges, facilitate orientation and onboarding activities, and collaborate with faculty and campus partners to promote student success. - Advise students from assigned colleges including Belk College of Business, College of Science, College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences, and College of Health & Human Services.
- Support students in academic planning, major exploration, and career development.
- Provide group presentations, workshops, and coordinate communication with students.
- Maintain advising notes and records; participate in recruitment and orientation events.
- Work autonomously and collaboratively with faculty and campus partners.
- Require a master's degree completed by July 1, 2026.
- Experience in presenting to groups and strong interpersonal communication skills required.
- Salary starts at $55,000 per year.
- Positions are full-time, permanent, exempt with typical university hours and possible weekends/after-hours as needed.
- Seven positions available across multiple departments and colleges on campus.
