Summary

The Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology at Charleston Southern University invites applications for an adjunct position starting August 1, 2026. This is a non-tenure-track, part-time teaching position for fall, spring and/or summer semesters. We encourage candidates who wish to teach online and/or in person in Charleston, South Carolina to apply.

Responsibilities

The adjunct instructor of Sociology will teach courses in the fall, spring and/or summer semesters as needed based on enrollment and expect to teach courses at all undergraduate levels both in-person or online. This position carries no service or research requirements, and it is paid on a per-credit-hour basis. Application Process Candidates should complete the online application. Applicants with degrees in a closely related social science field and 18 graduate credit hours in Sociology. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching college-level introductory courses in Sociology as well as specialized classes in anthropology, social problems, and/or criminology.
