Embedded Software Engineer - Infotainment
Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is a joint venture focused on automotive innovation and technology. The role involves extending and improving the embedded infotainment platform while collaborating with other developers on software design and troubleshooting solutions on vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for extending and improving the Rivian and Volkswagen Group embedded infotainment platform (i.e., displays, cameras, graphics, power management, audio, media, app lifecycle, etc)
- Contribute to the software design and code reviews while collaborating with other developers on technical issues, design choices and decision making
- Deploying and troubleshooting your solutions on a target vehicle or a hardware test bench
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent practical experience
- Demonstrated ability to deliver software solutions on time and with high level of quality
- Working skills with C, C++, and Java
- Experience with POSIX-based embedded systems; Preferred Linux and Android
- Familiarity with one or more technical areas such as displays, cameras, graphics, power management, audio, and Bluetooth
- Comfortable working in an environment with sophisticated build systems and large code repositories
- Experience building solutions with Android Automotive OS
- Understanding of AOSP or FreeRTOS architectures
- Preferred experience with low-level interfaces typical of embedded systems: such as I2C, SPI, GPIO, UART, USB, PCIe, SDIO, UFS, MDIO
