In this role, you will have the opportunity to work remotely and be part of a dynamic team that leverages deep user, operational, and technical insights to innovate Google's Ads products. Job Overview and Responsibilities As a Business Analyst and Data Scientist, you will be responsible for providing data-driven insights and analytical support for the gTech Ads organization. Your primary focus will be on solving strategic and operational issues by working with large quantities of data, conceptualizing and building analytical solutions, generating data insights, translating them into actionable recommendations, and influencing critical business decisions. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Writing SQL queries and working with multiple data systems to generate reporting and insights
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Support, Professional Services, Product Management, and Engineering
- Developing and maintaining analytical tools and models to support business decisions
- Communicating complex data insights and recommendations to stakeholders
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data science and analytics
Minimum Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent sensible experience
- At least 3 years of experience in an analytics or data scientist position
- Experience writing SQL queries and working with multiple data systems
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience in a Sales or Customer Service environment
- Knowledge of data analysis tools (R, Python) and techniques (experimental design, predictive modeling, machine learning, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data into useful formats and convey actionable insights through effective communication
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a high-paced and dynamic environment
- Comfort with engineering practices around analytical accuracy (e.g., development of BRDs/PRDs/Design Docs, checking in and reviewing code, etc.)
