Title: Minister of Music - Part Time Location: Jasper United States Job Description: Jasper United Methodist Church Jasper, Georgia 30143 Part Time , On-Site Part-Time Worship Leader/Choir Director - Jasper United Methodist Church, Jasper Georgia: Lead the church in a music ministry that will inspire and enhance congregational worship and spiritual growth, engage all age levels in a variety of music experiences and education, and promote music as an important part of meaningful corporate and personal worship and spiritual growth. Must have the ability and desire to bring a modern edge to the music program while celebrating traditions and hymns. Individual must have a passion for music and a commitment to using music to lead others to worship. Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in music education, music performance or equivalent experience. Demonstrated ability to direct choirs, ensembles, and instrumental groups. Knowledgeable of Christian music. We are seeking: a self-motivated leader who has 1) a passion for music ministry in the church, 2) agreement with the doctrinal position of the United Methodist Church, 3) strong leadership, organizational and communication abilities, 4) a desire to work as a team with pastor, staff, and laity 5) an ability to work with a wide range of personalities, 6) an encouraging and supportive spirit 7) a personal commitment to God, and 8) a demonstrated work ethic. This position requires: Sundays mornings, Wednesdays evenings, and possibly for other special events. The position is part-time and salaried and based on 10-15 hours per week. Schedule will vary at depending on the time of the year and special events.
