Newly Admitted/Barred Attorney, Workers' Compensation
Law Offices of Stacey L. Tokunaga is a prominent law firm seeking newly barred attorneys interested in Workers' Compensation. The role involves managing cases, preparing discovery, and communicating with clients while under the supervision of a supervising attorney.
Responsibilities
- Manage cases, prepare discovery, file motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures and negotiate settlements under the supervision of a supervising attorney
- Communicate with assigned clients at least every 30 days
- Build up to handling a full caseload, which includes working the files from start to finish, making appearances, learning to conduct depositions, coming up with plan of actions, and ensuring files move towards resolution
Skills
- 0-2 years of experience handling workers' compensation cases
- Candidate will need to provide copy of proof of CA Bar pass (waiting to be sworn in is okay)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
- Related insurance claims experience is a plus
- Subrogation/Civil Litigation experience is a plus
- Lien/creditor experience is a plus, but we have a lien specialist who handles all liens
