Responsibilities
Reviews, analyzes, and assigns codes based on appropriate coding guidelines and criteria for outpatient medical record documentation to include, but not limited to: medical, diagnostic and surgical documentation for assignment of the correct ICD-10-CM and /or CPT-4 HCPCS codes.Primary coding responsibility is Hospital Outpatient Surgery, Wound Care and Observation.
Qualifications
Education H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required Work Experience Hospital coding experience Required Experience in coding at a multi-hosptial organization and remote coding experience is Preferred Licenses and Certifications One or more certifications Upon Hire Required RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator or RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician or CCS-Certified Coding Specialist or CCA - Certified Coding Associate or CCS-P or CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H or Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) Preferred Business Unit : Company Name Piedmont Healthcare Corporate
