Port Logistics Customer Service Representative - Los Angeles

We are a critical part of the port transportation industry supplying services to major global companies and many local companies, as well. We specialize in transporting import and export containers, transloading/cross-docking cargo and warehouse storage, based on the best solution for our clients. Candidates should have the ability to be reliable. - MUST HAVE EXCEL, GOOGLE SHEET OR SPREADSHEET EXPERIENCE. -Should be able to type more than 50 WPM. - Experience handling high rate of phone calls while concurrently handling office tasks. - Should have experience with transportation management systems - Route drivers and containers for our intermodal operation with the objective of minimizing costs and meeting customer scheduling needs. - Be committed to performing duties with customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness in mind. The successful candidate for this position needs to be able to adjust to last minute changes and communicate clearly with drivers to schedule pick-ups and drop-offs. Duties include: - Dealing with the LA and Long Beach Ports to make appointments for container pick-ups and delivery - Working with Spreadsheets - Writing professional business emails. Knowledge of correct grammar is required. - Routing and monitoring drivers. - Collaborating with management to modify activities to accommodate customer needs - Acting as liaison between all shipment stakeholders on all sides of transaction - Cultivating strong relationships with drivers and customers to build trust Minimizing conflict when unanticipated changes occur Success Factors include the ability to... - Assess any situation and make quick fact-based decisions in order to comply with deadlines. - Plan and determine optimal scheduling and dispatch instructions while maintaining an awareness of potential issues that could prevent deliveries from being completed. - Accurately enter all deliveries and driver data into our systems.
