[Remote] Applications Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. 34Five.ai is an innovative company focused on creating emotionally intelligent digital colleagues known as Auras™. The Founding Applications Engineer will architect the initial product designs and integrate various AI assets into a cohesive engine, ensuring real-time interaction and emotional intelligence at the core of the Auras' functionality.
Responsibilities
- Design and establish the initial technical application stack, ensuring it is scalable, performant, and capable of real-time interaction
- Lead the creation of the initial Auras, integrating personality modeling and individualized strengths into the core agent logic
- Build the proprietary EQ engine that ensures facial expressions, voice modulations, and behavioral responses are generated by the same personality-driven system
- Develop the methodology for Auras to attend and actively participate in meetings (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet) with their own identities
- Continuously research and leverage emerging AI assets (e.g., ElevenLabs, lip-sync technologies) to reduce R&D spend while maintaining a competitive moat
- Implement frameworks for relationship memory and trust modeling while proactively addressing risks like AI bias and reinforced stereotypes
Skills
- Deep experience with multiple LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows
- Proven track record of stitching together complex APIs (voice, video, text) into performant, real-time applications
- Mastery of modern full-stack development with a focus on low-latency data processing and real-time communication protocols
- Foundational mindset — comfortable building from zero to MVP within a 6-9 month milestone window
- Ability to work closely with the Founder to translate professional services domain expertise into technical requirements
