[Remote] Backend Developer

The Backend Engineer will be a key part of the dev team, building and scaling systems for an AI-driven recruitment analytics platform, focusing on backend services and data processing.
Responsibilities
- Build backend services and APIs that ingest, process, and serve recruitment data at scale
- Design data models and pipelines that handle complex, real-world staffing workflows
- Integrate with third-party platforms like Bullhorn ATS, Salesforce, and Dynamics
- Contribute to our AI/LLM processing pipeline — shaping how we extract insights from unstructured communication data
- Help shape our technical direction as an early team member
Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Solid experience with MongoDB (schema design, indexing, aggregation framework)
- Experience integrating with large third-party enterprise systems — OAuth/token refresh, rate limits, and incremental sync of large datasets
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, ideally GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Scheduler)
- Experience with RESTful APIs and/or tRPC, and schema validation (Zod)
- Comfort with event-driven and asynchronous processing patterns
- Demonstrated production experience building with LLMs — comfortable with function/tool calling and structured outputs, not just freeform prompting
- A security-conscious mindset — you think about input validation, access controls, and safe data handling as part of building features, not an afterthought
- Experience with staffing or recruiting technology
