[Remote] Contract Engineering Manager PHP/.Net (6 months)

They are seeking a Contract Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate engineering teams working with .NET and PHP technologies, ensuring high-quality outcomes and effective team operations.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for leading and coordinating four small engineering teams operating across .NET and PHP technologies
- You will provide day-to-day leadership, direction, coaching, and oversight to ensure the teams are operating effectively and delivering high-quality outcomes
- Key responsibilities include:
- Proficient with C# / .Net, Azure and PHP as well as Matrix-managing engineering teams across .NET and PHP technology stacks
- Driving high standards of technical quality, delivery performance, and engineering best practice
- Identifying and removing delivery blockers to maximise team effectiveness
- Improving ways of working and helping teams operate more efficiently
- Supporting greater integration between these teams and the wider technology organisation
- Acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders and engineering leadership
- Guiding technical decision-making
- Championing AI-augmented software development, helping teams leverage tools such as Claude Code and/or Devin effectively
- Able to hold your own with a wide range of stakeholders, using strong communication skills and professional gravitas to build trust and drive outcomes
Skills
- Proficient with C# / .Net, Azure and PHP
- Experience in leading and coordinating engineering teams across .NET and PHP technology stacks
- Ability to drive high standards of technical quality, delivery performance, and engineering best practice
- Skill in identifying and removing delivery blockers to maximise team effectiveness
- Experience in improving ways of working and helping teams operate more efficiently
