[Remote] Data Engineer

The Data Engineer role involves designing and implementing data infrastructure solutions in the cloud, optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring data security and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and scaling robust data infrastructure solutions in the cloud, including Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and scalable data platforms
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, AWS services, and APIs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure data security and compliance, including PII handling through Amazon Macie
Skills
- 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a Master's (or equivalent experience)
- Active Secret clearance
- Proven expertise in AWS architecture, cloud data platforms (Data Lakes/Warehouses), and security best practices
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, Java, Scala, or R, with experience in data engineering tools such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Kinesis, and related frameworks
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and data warehouses in cloud environments
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with ability to lead and support project initiatives
