[Remote] Director of Finance

DATTCO, Inc. is a family-owned transportation business, and they are seeking a Director of Finance to partner with executive and operating leaders to enhance financial performance. The role involves delivering financial reporting, analyzing results, and supporting operational improvements and budgeting processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clear, timely financial reporting and insight across multiple operating units
• Analyze monthly and quarterly results, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities
• Build and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and performance scorecards for leadership
• Provide financial modeling and recommendations for:
• Fleet and capital investments
• Pricing and contract decisions
• Labor and operational structure changes
• Facilities, technology, and system investments
• Partner with operations leaders to improve margins, productivity, and cost discipline
• Lead or support budgeting, forecasting, reforecasting, and long-range planning
• Support capital allocation decisions with ROI, cash flow, and leverage awareness
• Mentor finance staff and improve finance processes and analytical rigor

Skills

• 10+ years of progressive finance experience with leadership responsibility
• Strong background in financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and ROI evaluation
• Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non-financial leaders
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Experience in asset-intensive or operationally complex businesses
• MBA/CPA
