[Remote] Director of People Operations

Ditto is a fast-growing startup focused on redefining data movement at the edge, ensuring seamless connectivity for real-time applications. They are seeking a Director of People Operations to manage day-to-day HR functions while implementing strategic initiatives to support employee growth and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day People Operations function, ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently
- Own employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and documentation
- Maintain and improve HR systems, policies, and processes as the company scales
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Lead compensation programs including salary reviews, benchmarking, job leveling, and compensation planning
- Manage employee benefits programs and serve as the primary point of contact for benefits administration
- Oversee 401(k) administration, including employee communications, compliance requirements, and vendor relationships
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations, performance concerns, team development, and organizational effectiveness
- Identify opportunities to strengthen employee engagement and retention
Skills
- Strong knowledge of compensation, benefits administration, performance management, and employment practices
- Experience managing 401(k) programs and working with benefits providers and brokers
- Proven ability to coach managers and influence leaders across all levels of the organization
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly
- Hands-on, practical, and excited to roll up your sleeves when needed
- Passion for creating an exceptional employee experience while helping the business grow
- A proactive and curious attitude about how AI can support your role through automation, ideation, or more thoughtful decision-making
- Experience leading People Operations at a hypergrowth startup
- Familiarity with Rippling, Lattice, Pave, Carta
- Experience working with employees who support both commercial and public sector customers
