[Remote] Engineering Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Element Six is a global leader in the design, development and production of synthetic diamond and tungsten carbide supermaterials. The Process Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of Process Engineers to enhance and optimize production processes while ensuring safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Create a Zero Harm mentality towards Health and Safety within the Process Engineering team
- Manage a team of Process Engineers tasked with the development and implementation of production processes in line with best Lean, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence techniques, and execute against these Strategies and drive continuous improvement at all levels within the team
- Coach, mentor, and manage the performance of the Process Engineering team
- Manage the qualification and implementation of new production processes
- Oversee the site safety program including training, reporting, and correction of safety issues
- Be a key member of the site leadership team and ensure that the Process Engineering team's KPI's are delivered upon in order to achieve the overall Site Targets & Objectives
- Participate as a member of the OEE Team to report issues, solve problems, and drive improvements
- Utilize Production and Quality data to drive decision making
- Lead projects and deliver fundamental long-term process improvements
Skills
- Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or closely related field
- 5 years of work experience in the job offered or closely related occupation
- Expertise/knowledge of Chemical Vapor Deposition Process
- Experience with manufacturing techniques used in processing superhard materials
- Experience working cross functionally in a local and international manufacturing environment
- Data science/data analysis techniques - utilizing production and quality data to drive decision making
- Experience leading site critical projects to drive new product introductions or capital projects
- Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered
