[Remote] Founding AI Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Melavex is an early-stage company seeking a Founding AI Engineer to shape the technical direction and build products that will define the future of enterprise AI. The role involves working directly with the founders to design architecture, ship features quickly, and establish the engineering culture from day one.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale AI products from concept to production
- Design backend systems capable of supporting enterprise customers
- Develop and deploy LLM-powered applications and AI agents
- Work across the full technology stack where needed
- Influence technical strategy and engineering best practices
- Help build and mentor the engineering team as the company grows
Skills
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience building production AI or machine learning applications
- Strong Python experience
- Experience with LLMs, RAG, AI agents or agentic workflows
- Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure
- Startup experience or a genuine interest in building from the ground up
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
- Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar frameworks
- Experience deploying GPU workloads
- Kubernetes or Docker experience
- Knowledge of vector databases
- Open-source contributions or personal AI projects
