[Remote] Health IT Data Engineer

The Health IT Data Engineer will design and optimize data pipelines and analytics environments to support Health IT modernization initiatives, collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise data pipelines and ETL processes
- Develop logical and physical data models
- Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems
- Implement data validation and quality control procedures
- Optimize database and reporting performance
- Support Power BI, Tableau, and enterprise reporting platforms
- Develop automation processes supporting data ingestion and transformation
- Ensure compliance with Government security and privacy requirements
- Troubleshoot data integration issues and performance bottlenecks
- Support cloud-based analytics environments and data modernization initiatives
- Prepare technical documentation and data architecture diagrams
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field
- Minimum seven (7) years of data engineering experience
- Strong SQL development skills
- Experience designing ETL pipelines
- Experience with relational databases and data warehousing
- Experience supporting enterprise reporting platforms
- Ability to obtain DHS Public Trust suitability
- Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric experience
- Power BI and Tableau development experience
- Healthcare data integration experience
- Knowledge of HL7 or FHIR standards
