[Remote] Instructional Content Designer

OLS Staffing is a public-sector education organization seeking an independent contractor to support high-impact projects for the implementation of instructional materials. The role involves developing a cohesive design framework for K–2 supplemental science units, ensuring materials are engaging and accessible for educators and students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply a cohesive design framework for state-adapted K–2 supplemental science units
- Support preparation of nine additional units for a later release
- Refine materials to reflect a vision for rigorous, inquiry-driven instruction
- Provide graphic design and accessibility support across related academic projects
- Ensure deliverables meet state and federal accessibility standards and align with established branding requirements
- Help maintain coherence, timely completion, and implementation readiness across instructional materials
Skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Pro
- Background or experience in branding, digital marketing, or graphic design
- Knowledge of InDesign and Canva
- Understanding of state and federal ADA compliance requirements for documents and educational resources
- Ability to follow established style and branding guidance
- Experience with K–12 science content
