[Remote] Legal Counsel Digital, AI and Cyber Law, Robotics
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ABB is a global market leader in robotics and technology solutions, and they are seeking a Lead Counsel for Digital, AI, and Cyber Law. The role involves providing legal guidance on digital business initiatives, supporting the company's digital strategy, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on digital business initiatives, including AI, cloud services, datacentre, software, licensing, and technology-driven solutions
- Responsible for guiding the company’s digital strategy, leveraging AI and emerging technologies
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of digital and technology-related agreements with global customers, partners, and suppliers
- Support digital transformation projects, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Advise on intellectual property, cybersecurity, and related regulatory issues impacting digital business
- Collaborate with global and local Legal & Integrity colleagues to ensure consistency of approach across jurisdictions
- Monitor legal and regulatory trends in digital and technology markets, proactively identifying risks and opportunities
- Protect the company’s reputation by ensuring operations meet ethical and compliance standards
- Provide training and guidance to business stakeholders on legal issues relevant to digital offerings
Skills
- Qualified lawyer with 10–15 years of experience in commercial/technology law, preferably gained in a multinational corporate or top-tier law firm environment
- Strong expertise in digital, AI, IT, cyber law, software licensing, cloud, data centre, and data protection law
- Proven track record in negotiating complex technology agreements across international markets
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to engage effectively with senior business stakeholders
- Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and commercially minded, with the ability to balance innovation and risk
- Previous experience in Robotics sector is preferred but not required
- Fluency in English required; additional European languages are a strong asset
