[Remote] Leveraged Finance and Restructuring Attorney - REMOTE / Interim

Legalpeople is seeking an experienced leveraged finance and restructuring attorney to join a leading global alternative investment manager's credit restructuring team. The role involves advising on complex matters related to liquid-loan portfolios and collaborating with senior leadership on distressed credits.
Responsibilities
- Advise on cooperation agreements among lender groups and related documentation
- Review NDAs and ancillary agreements tied to lender coordination efforts
- Support liability management exercises, distressed exchanges, and restructurings
- Analyze lender rights, credit agreements, capital structures, and restructuring alternatives
- Assist with credits placed on internal watch lists due to performance deterioration
- Support both in-court and out-of-court restructuring and bankruptcy matters
- Advise on issues impacting holders of syndicated bank loans and CLO investments
- Partner directly with senior restructuring stakeholders and investment teams on live situations
Skills
- 7+ years of experience as an attorney in leveraged finance, syndicated lending, and restructuring
- Active license to practice law in the U.S
- U.S. residency
- Deep familiarity with liquid-credit and leveraged-loan markets
- Experience representing lenders, lender groups, CLOs, or institutional investors in distressed scenarios
- Strong command of leveraged finance and restructuring concepts, documentation, and market terms
- Track record of advising on liability management exercises, workouts, distressed exchanges, and bankruptcies
- Ability to quickly assess credit agreements and borrower capital structures
- Strong academic and professional credentials
- Seniority and confidence to operate independently with minimal oversight
- Training from a highly regarded restructuring or leveraged finance practice (Am Law background or sophisticated boutique strongly preferred)
