[Remote] Network Architect
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Consulting Solutions is seeking an experienced Architect level Palo Alto Firewall SME to support a short-term engagement focused on firewall architecture validation, refinement, and deployment. The role involves working across cloud and on-premises environments to enhance an existing architecture and ensure its production readiness.
Responsibilities
- Validate and refine an existing firewall and network security architecture
- Provide ongoing care, tuning, and optimization of the architecture to reach production readiness
- Lead Palo Alto firewall deployment across environments
- Design and implement firewall segmentation strategies
- Support deployment and integration of Prisma Access and related services
- Configure and manage global connectivity including GlobalProtect and site to site tunneling
- Work across cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure
- Support both virtual and on premises firewall implementations
- Collaborate on route and switch design elements as part of the broader network architecture
- Contribute to operational technology architecture considerations
- Integrate with existing security tooling and platforms currently in place
- Develop and implement application programming interfaces to support automation and integration
- Assist in accelerating deployment timelines within cloud environments
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure the architecture aligns with business and security requirements
Skills
- Extensive experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls at an architect level
- Strong knowledge of Prisma Access and secure access service edge concepts
- Experience Deploying with Strata Cloud Manager or Panorama
- Proven experience deploying Palo Alto virtual firewalls in Google Cloud Platform
- Proven experience deploying Palo Alto virtual firewalls in Microsoft Azure
- Experience with virtual private network tunneling and GlobalProtect in Operational Technology Environment
- Strong understanding of firewall segmentation and network security design
- Solid background in routing and switching
- Experience working in hybrid environments including cloud and on premises
- Familiarity with operational technology environments
- Experience designing and implementing application programming interfaces
- Ability to assess and mature partially developed architectures
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Tools and Technologies: Palo Alto Networks Firewalls, Prisma Access, Strata Cloud Manager or Panorama, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, GlobalProtect, Network routing and switching technologies, Application programming interfaces and automation tooling
