[Remote] Network Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CSI Technology Group is a long-established provider of robust, fully customizable eGovernment software. They are seeking a Network Engineer to maintain and optimize their network infrastructure, manage cloud services, and ensure system security and performance.
Responsibilities
- Day to Day Maintenance of a Microsoft Windows AD Infrastructure, Microsoft Azure AD Infrastructure, and Microsoft Windows Server Platform
- Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
- Design and configure AWS and Azure cloud environment and services to deliver resilient and reliable application infrastructure service to customers
- Manage organization LAN, WAN, servers, storage, compute, identity, and security
- Manage organization's cloud infrastructure, including virtual networks, storage, compute, identity, and security
- Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization
- Sets and supports Virtualization environments
- Sets and supports Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Plans and implements of database maintenance and recurring tasks with the SQL Scheduling service
- Performs client consultation: plan, design, documents, implement, and support LAN/WAN networks
- Plans and implement network security, including maintaining firewalls, developing VPN, remote solutions and maintaining company security policies
- Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems
Skills
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with server applications in a Microsoft networked environment and high level of Active Directory Management
- Must be familiar with Windows Server environment, SQL Server, High Performance Cluster, TCP/IP networking desired and Virtualization environment
- Familiar with AWS and Azure cloud services and infrastructures
- Expertise in the following areas: MS Windows Server, MS SQL Server, Recovery TCP/IP networking, LAN/WAN, Routing and Switching
- Excellent knowledge of server hardware and strong problem-solving skills
- Expertise with Data Backup and Disaster Recovery plan
- Solid programming and scripting abilities
- Project management and documentation skills
- High level of initiative and dedication
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline
- This role requires travel to client sites in the Richmond area and other locations throughout Virginia at least one day per week
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required; candidates without a valid driver's license will not be considered for this position
