[Remote] Principal Software Engineer (Ai)

They are seeking a Principal Software Engineer who will design and deliver production systems while shaping the next generation of AI-assisted software engineering.
Responsibilities
- In this is a very hands-on role, you’ll design, build and maintain highly available backend services and distributed systems
- Own technical solutions from initial design through production deployment
- Solve complex performance, scalability and reliability challenges
- Use modern AI development tools to accelerate coding, testing, debugging and refactoring
- Improve engineering productivity through automation, CI/CD and AI-assisted workflows
- Collaborate with senior engineers to deliver high-impact features at scale
- Help raise engineering standards through code reviews and technical leadership
Skills
- A proven track record of building and operating large-scale production systems
- Strong experience building backend platforms, APIs and distributed systems
- Production experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures
- Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and database performance optimization
- Experience building secure, resilient systems in production environments
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing and production support
- Experience integrating AI into daily engineering workflow, using coding assistants and autonomous development tools
