[Remote] RECRUITER

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. City of Amarillo is seeking a Recruiter to support their recruitment efforts within the organization. The role involves attracting, sourcing, and evaluating candidates for various municipal positions, as well as onboarding newly hired employees.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with promotional and transfer paperwork
  • Contacts hiring department once applicant has successfully completed all phases of the pre-employment process
  • Coordinates employment start date with the hiring department and employee
  • Schedules new employees for processing
  • Performs customer service to internal and external customers
  • Assists applicants with Workday applications on computer
  • Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies for department positions
  • Respond to inquiries from candidates regarding job opportunities, application processes, and status updates
  • Maintain accurate records of all applicant communications and recruitment activities in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Support the creation of job descriptions and job advertisements
  • Assist with pre-employment checks, including background checks, reference checks, and drug testing
  • Organize and participate in career fairs and recruitment events to promote job opportunities
  • Onboard new hires, ensuring that all documentation is completed, and orientation is scheduled
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and assist with workforce planning
  • Continuously improve the applicant experience by addressing inquiries, providing feedback, and ensuring a positive impression of the organization
  • Cover front reception area for lunches and time off
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have reliable transportation to attend job fairs at remote locations
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic understanding of recruiting and hiring processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Previous experience in recruiting, administrative, or customer service role
