[Remote] Senior Accountant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mindful Health Solutions is a leading outpatient psychiatry group dedicated to helping patients heal and thrive. They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support their accounting operations, financial reporting, and tax compliance functions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Support preparation of internal financial statements and reporting packages
- Coordinate with third-party tax consultants regarding income tax and non-income tax matters
- Schedule and monitor all income tax and non-income tax filings and payments to ensure timely compliance
- Maintain tax matrices, calendars and filing deadlines across applicable jurisdictions
- Assist with audits and provide requested support documentation
- Review accounting transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Support process improvements and implementation of accounting best practices
- Collaborate with leadership on financial reporting, budgeting, and operational initiatives
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (4-year accounting degree required)
- Minimum of 3 years of related accounting experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience managing month-end close and general ledger reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables/VLOOKUP function expertise) and accounting systems
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities with accuracy and diligence
- Efficient initiative-taker with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent time management and deadline management skills. Strong follow-up skills
- Prominent level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
- Experience working with third-party tax consultants and multi-state filings preferred
- Healthcare industry experience is a plus
