[Remote] Senior Staff Software Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Raydar is a remote-first, AI-native software company focused on rebuilding the mortgage origination stack. They are seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to architect and build complex AI systems, integrate APIs, and mentor junior engineers in a rapidly growing team.
Responsibilities
- Ship to production on day one, then take on your first mission-critical project within your first month
- Architect, build, and launch complex multi-step AI agents that automate customer operations and save them millions per year
- Integrate third-party lending APIs to generate documents and disclosures, run automated underwriting, and prevent fraud
- Design and scale the next generation of job-processing infrastructure on AWS for a more observable, reliable backend
- Build full-stack features from design through deployment, modeling the complex relational data behind home loans (thousands of fields each)
- Mentor less senior engineers and raise the bar on architecture, security, and reliability
Skills
- 7+ years building full-stack web applications from design through deployment, including 5+ years at a senior level
- Strong, recent, hands-on TypeScript proficiency, with specific examples of complex systems you have built
- Experience scaling high-throughput distributed systems in the cloud (AWS, Terraform)
- Production experience with React, Node/Express, GraphQL/Apollo, and Postgres
- A track record at high-growth, software-first startups (VC-backed or top tech), with clear ownership and progression
- An SRE-oriented mindset and a keen eye for security risks
- Familiarity with modern AI product development (evals, experiment design, dataset curation)
- Active GitHub, open-source contributions, or side projects
- Fintech or lending domain experience
