[Remote] Software Development Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Delphi-US, LLC is a national IT Services firm focused on attracting top technical talent. They are seeking a Software Development Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and supporting application features in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain application features across system layers (UI, services, APIs, and data)
- Deliver small to medium-sized features with increasing independence
- Contribute to enhancements, bug fixes, and system improvements
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code aligned with team standards
- Use AI-assisted development tools to:
- Accelerate implementation and reduce repetitive work
- Generate test cases, documentation, and scaffolding
- Explore alternative solutions and approaches
- Validate AI-generated outputs for correctness, security, and maintainability
- Develop and maintain unit and integration tests
- Participate in code reviews and apply feedback
- Support debugging and root cause analysis of issues
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, retrospectives)
- Break down assigned work into actionable tasks
- Communicate progress, risks, and blockers proactively
- Document technical changes, design decisions, and feature behavior
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and documentation practices
Skills
- Typically 1–3 years of experience in software development or related experience
- Foundational understanding of software development principles (object-oriented design, modular design, etc.)
- Foundational understanding of application architecture concepts (client/server, APIs, data flow)
- Foundational understanding of version control and collaborative development practices
- Exposure to or willingness to adopt AI-assisted coding tools
- Ability to critically evaluate generated code and outputs
- Solid foundation in software development fundamentals
- Ability to implement features with moderate guidance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to work both independently on scoped tasks and collaboratively within a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- General understanding across multiple layers of application development
- Awareness of modern development practices such as automated testing, CI/CD, and cloud-based systems
- Ability to learn and adapt to new tools, frameworks, and platforms quickly
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and propose practical solutions
- Growing ability to evaluate trade-offs in implementation approaches
- Communicates clearly with team members and stakeholders
