[Remote] Sr. Director, Rental Operations

The Sr. Director of Rental Operations is responsible for providing enterprise-wide leadership and strategic direction for rental operations across multiple facilities, ensuring safety, operational excellence, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction across all rental operations, including multi-site and regional teams
  • Lead, develop, and manage a multi-layered leadership team (operations, rental, customer service, continuous improvement)
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and adherence to regulatory and company standards
  • Drive operational excellence (safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer service performance)
  • Own financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and capital planning
  • Establish and execute enterprise strategies (inventory optimization, fleet utilization, capacity planning)
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including standardization and process optimization
  • Partner cross-functionally and implement KPI/performance management systems to drive accountability

Skills

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline
  • Generally, 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction across all rental operations, including multi-site and regional teams
  • Lead, develop, and manage a multi-layered leadership team (operations, rental, customer service, continuous improvement)
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and adherence to regulatory and company standards
  • Drive operational excellence (safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer service performance)
  • Own financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and capital planning
  • Establish and execute enterprise strategies (inventory optimization, fleet utilization, capacity planning)
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including standardization and process optimization
  • Partner cross-functionally and implement KPI/performance management systems to drive accountability
  • Multi-site leadership experience in rental, manufacturing, or distribution operations
  • Experience managing large, multi-layered teams across geographically dispersed locations
  • Proven success in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience with P&L ownership and financial management
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certifications
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Advanced leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with KPI development and performance management systems
