[Remote] Staff Accountant - Public

Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements using client-provided records and supporting documentation
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting
- Organize and finalize trial balances to support year-end tax and accounting engagements
- Collect, review, and compile client tax information in a timely and accurate manner
- Draft tax workpapers and related documentation for business and individual filings
- Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for a diverse client base
- Collaborate with senior team members to deliver responsive service and maintain strong client relationships
- Contribute to engagements across industries such as manufacturing, construction, and other business sectors
Skills
- At least three years of experience in public accounting
- Working knowledge of accounting controls and core financial reporting principles
- Experience performing balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis
- Ability to manage multiple client assignments with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, schedules, and reporting support
- Strong communication skills and a detail-oriented, team-oriented approach to client service
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software
