[Remote] Staff Software Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Snapsheet Inc is a claims technology company that focuses on delivering purposeful and precise outcomes in claims management and virtual vehicle appraisals. The Staff Software Engineer will drive the technical vision and architectural strategy for core systems, working closely with senior-level stakeholders to make critical decisions and mentor engineers in a collaborative remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive the technical vision and architectural strategy for core systems and platform
- Work with senior-level stakeholders to drive critical decisions on vendor-related features and the future of our platform's functionality
- Mentor engineers, lead complex feature development, and deliver impactful, production-ready solutions
Skills
- BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field
- 7+ years of full-stack web development experience
- At least 4 years of experience working with relational databases
- Experience leading larger projects and being the POC (Primary Point of Contact)
- Experience planning, scoping and creating architecture documentation
- Experience mentoring junior developers
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical communication skills; able to articulate complex ideas clearly
- Demonstrated experience solving scalability challenges and discussing them in depth
- Curious and proactive in understanding the systems and tools beyond surface-level frameworks
- Willingness to dive deep and gain expertise in at least one technical area
- Clear understanding of the product and business context behind their work
