[Remote] Technical Accounting Manager

StevenDouglas is a fast growing, venture backed instant commerce company seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join its finance organization. This role offers exposure to complex accounting matters and requires partnership with cross functional teams at a senior level.
Responsibilities
- Research, interpret, and document the company's positions on complex and emerging technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, leases, and business combinations
- Draft clear, well supported technical accounting memos and maintain accounting policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Evaluate the accounting impact of new transactions, including M&A activity, and partner with cross functional teams to ensure proper treatment
- Monitor new and proposed accounting standards, assessing potential impact on the organization and preparing implementation plans as needed
- Support the quarterly and annual financial statement close process for technical accounting areas
- Partner with external auditors to facilitate efficient reviews and audits, providing documentation and analysis as required
- Assist in maintaining and strengthening internal controls in alignment with SOX requirements
- Collaborate cross functionally with FP&A, Legal, and Operations to support business initiatives requiring technical accounting input
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and documentation as the organization scales
Skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year institution, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA licensure
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, operate effectively in a remote team environment, and consistently meet deadlines
- Strong analytical judgment and creative problem solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Self motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Experience working within an Oracle ERP environment
