[Remote] Vice President Operations

Haydon Healy is a leading engineering, construction and infrastructure services provider supporting major utilities and power infrastructure across the United States. They are seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead and expand their Power Delivery business in the North East, focusing on operational excellence, strategic client relationships, and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership across all operational activities within the Transmission & Distribution business
- Lead multiple regional operations teams delivering Transmission Lines, Substations, Grid Modernization and Utility Infrastructure projects
- Maintain full accountability for divisional P&L performance, forecasting, budgeting and financial results
- Develop and execute strategic growth initiatives to expand market share throughout the North East
- Build, strengthen and maintain executive-level relationships with Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs), Municipal Utilities and Cooperative clients
- Partner closely with Business Development to identify, pursue and secure new opportunities
- Drive operational excellence across safety, quality, project execution, scheduling and financial performance
- Recruit, mentor and develop high-performing operational leadership teams
- Establish succession planning and leadership development across the business
- Ensure projects are consistently delivered safely, profitably and on schedule
- Monitor key operational metrics including backlog, margins, utilization, forecasting and client satisfaction
- Work closely with executive leadership to develop long-term business strategy and investment plans
- Champion a culture focused on safety, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements, geographic expansion, and increased market penetration across the North East
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within the Power Delivery industry
- Executive leadership experience managing large regional or national operations
- Demonstrated success leading Transmission & Distribution businesses
- Proven experience with full P&L ownership and accountability for financial performance
- A proven track record of successfully growing an operational division, increasing revenue, expanding market share, and developing long-term client relationships
- Strong executive relationships with major Investor-Owned Utilities and key transmission clients throughout the North East
- Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations
- Strong understanding of EPC delivery models, self-perform construction and utility contracting
- Excellent commercial acumen with experience managing contracts, risk and profitability
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire, mentor and develop high-performing teams
