[Remote] VMware Cloud on AWS (VMC on AWS) Engineer/Remote
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Apetan Consulting LLC is seeking a VMware Cloud on AWS Engineer to design, implement, manage, and support hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions using VMware Cloud on AWS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying and configuring VMware environments, supporting workload migrations, and ensuring system performance and security.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage VMware Cloud on AWS environments
- Support migration of workloads from on-premises data centers to VMware Cloud on AWS
- Administer VMware infrastructure components including vSphere, vCenter, NSX, and vSAN
- Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and security
- Configure networking, connectivity, and security policies between on-premises and AWS environments
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and cloud-related issues
- Perform upgrades, patching, backup, and disaster recovery activities
- Automate routine operational tasks using scripting tools
- Collaborate with cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and application owners
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
Skills
- Hands-on experience with VMware Cloud on AWS
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere
- Hands-on experience with VMware vCenter Server
- Hands-on experience with VMware NSX
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSAN
- Knowledge of AWS services such as Amazon EC2
- Knowledge of AWS services such as Amazon VPC
- Knowledge of AWS services such as AWS IAM
- Knowledge of AWS services such as Amazon S3
- Experience with virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and hybrid cloud environments
- Understanding of networking concepts including VPN, routing, DNS, firewalls, and Direct Connect
- Experience with PowerCLI, PowerShell, or Python scripting
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- VMware certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- VMware certifications such as VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and cloud operations
