[Remote] VP, Finance Operations
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Alera Group is a growing company in the finance and insurance sector, looking for a Senior Director of Finance Operations. This role involves leading finance operations strategy, optimizing financial systems, and driving process improvements across a multi-entity organization.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the Workday Financials environment following go-live, including roadmap planning, optimization, and future module expansion
- Lead finance operations strategy, driving standardization of processes, policies, and controls across a multi-entity organization
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and reporting enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Partner cross-functionally with HR, IT, and Accounting to align end-to-end workflows, data integrity, and system integrations
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks, including change control, data standards, and system documentation
- Support M&A integration efforts, including onboarding acquired entities into financial systems and aligning operating models
- Drive visibility through reporting, metrics, and dashboards to support executive decision-making and operational performance
Skills
- 10+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial systems within a complex, multi-entity environment
- Hands-on experience leading ERP implementations or post-go-live optimization
- Experience driving process standardization, automation, and systems transformation initiatives
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority
- Strong understanding of financial operations, controls, reporting, and data governance
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business impact
- Workday strongly preferred
