About the Role
The Sei Development Foundation is seeking a technically proficient Web Design Lead who can both create compelling designs and implement them with code. This hybrid designer-developer role will shape the visual identity and user experience of Sei's ecosystem while building functional interfaces for our high-performance blockchain applications. You'll bridge traditional design principles with blockchain development knowledge to create intuitive interfaces that showcase Sei's technical advantages and make complex blockchain functionalities accessible to users with varying levels of technical expertise. Your ability to both design and implement user interfaces will be crucial in positioning Sei as the premier platform for decentralized applications requiring web2-level performance.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement web design for Sei incubated and ecosystem marketing projects
- Collaborate with blockchain developers and product teams to implement visual elements that function properly with smart contracts and Sei's unique technical features
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that effectively communicate the unique value proposition of Sei's performance advantages
- Oversee Sei Ecosystem web assets and visual language ensuring consistent branding and great UX across all digital touchpoints
- Develop responsive layouts that maintain functionality across mobile, tablet, and desktop platforms
- Develop functional prototypes and implement production-ready frontend code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and relevant Web3 libraries
- Work directly with blockchain developers to integrate frontend components with smart contracts and Sei's unique technical features
- Establish web design and development best practices for ecosystem partners in easy-to-read documentation
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional experience in web design and frontend development roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity
- Strong proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and frontend frameworks (particularly React)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating both UX/UI design capabilities and frontend implementation
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, and the Adobe Creative Suite
Nice to haves
- Understanding of blockchain fundamentals, particularly performance factors in user experience
- Demonstrated experience with Web3 libraries and blockchain integrations
- Experience designing and implementing dashboards for monitoring digital assets or network activities
- Familiarity with the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine)
- Experience leading hybrid design and development teams
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple visual metaphors and functional interfaces
- Experience working in fast-paced startup environments with rapidly evolving technologies
- Contribution to open-source projects or blockchain-related community initiatives
