The role | Te mahi The Department of Public Health as part of the Faculty of Medicine, Christchurch, seeks to appoint a skilled and versatile Teaching Fellow to support and teach primarily into the Survey Methods (PUBH723), as well as undertaking some course materials development. This role will work closely with course convenors and assisting in developing teaching materials, practical sessions and assessments.   • Some teaching experience, with a desire to develop teaching and facilitate learning success.
  • •    Experience with use of or demonstrated knowledge in social research methods, particularly surveys.
  • Experience with development of surveys using software such as Qualtrics or REDCap
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with students and staff from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Commitment to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and demonstrated understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and Pasifika values.

Candidates who have several years teaching experience, and hold or working towards a PhD alongside knowledge of public health within the New Zealand context will be highly regarded. It would also be preferred if candidates have experience with distance teaching, and curriculum and/or course content. Further details | Pūroko This is a part time (0.2 FTE), fixed term position (July to December 2026) based in Ōtautahi, Christchurch, however, we are open to distance applicants from within New Zealand. The salary range for this role is $75,727 to $87,849 per annum (pro rata). The successful candidate will be appointed to an appropriate step on the Teaching Fellow scale based on qualifications, skills and experience.
