[Remote] Accounting Process Improvement Consultant

They are looking for an experienced accounting professional to analyze accounting processes, validate results, and help scale solutions that reduce manual effort and operational risk.
Responsibilities
- Support accounting process improvement and automation initiatives
- Analyze accounting data, investigate variances, and validate outputs to support accounting processes
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and improve existing workflows
- Assist with testing, validation, and implementation of process enhancements and automation solutions
- Use SQL and reporting tools to query, analyze, and validate accounting data
- Provide proactive status updates, identify blockers, and independently drive workstreams to completion
Skills
- Strong accounting foundation with experience in month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, controls, and audit support
- Ability to understand and communicate accounting implications to business and finance stakeholders
- Experience working directly with accounting teams, controllers, and leadership
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to investigate issues, validate results, and think through end-to-end accounting processes
- Self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to run, modify, and interpret queries
- Tech / SaaS industry experience is nice to have
