[Remote] Cloud Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CDW is seeking a Senior AWS AI Platform Engineer to help design, build, and secure an enterprise AI platform within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role will focus on cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), AI service enablement, and security compliance, partnering closely with application, security, and platform teams to deliver scalable AI capabilities across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Partner with application and architecture teams to design and evolve an enterprise AI platform on AWS
- Develop reusable Terraform modules and Infrastructure as Code standards to enable self-service platform consumption across multiple engineering teams
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, testing frameworks, and deployment standards for platform components
- Engineer and support AWS-based AI services, including Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, and related AI/ML workflows
- Collaborate with Security teams to implement enterprise hardening standards for AI services and cloud infrastructure
- Design and implement security controls aligned with financial industry compliance requirements
- Ensure platform architecture meets governance standards related to NIST and Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM)
- Integrate graph database technologies into AI and data platform solutions where appropriate
- Drive automation, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence across the AI platform ecosystem
Skills
- Strong enterprise experience designing and engineering solutions within AWS cloud environments
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, or similar cloud-based AI/ML services
- Advanced Terraform expertise, including development of reusable modules and enterprise-scale Infrastructure as Code frameworks
- Experience designing and integrating graph database solutions
- Prior experience supporting regulated environments with compliance requirements aligned to NIST and/or Cloud Security Alliance CCM frameworks
- Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, risk management, and platform hardening practices
- Experience collaborating across architecture, application development, security, and infrastructure teams
- Experience building AI platforms, GenAI environments, or ML infrastructure at scale
- Knowledge of AWS security services and cloud-native governance frameworks
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and platform engineering concepts
- Experience supporting financial services, banking, insurance, or other highly regulated industries
