[Remote] Remote | Product Design & UX Evaluation Consultant — $60–$130/hour

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. 24-MAG is offering a specialized part-time consulting opportunity for product design and UX professionals. The role focuses on evaluating product design concepts, creating mockups, and providing structured design feedback to improve user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate product design concepts, interface layouts, user flows, and product experience decisions
• Provide structured feedback on usability, clarity, visual hierarchy, interaction quality, and overall design taste
• Assess design choices from the perspective of users, product goals, and business context
• Identify friction points, unclear patterns, weak visual decisions, or gaps in user journey logic
• Create or refine product mockups using tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, or comparable design platforms
• Translate rough concepts, structured content, or design prompts into polished visual directions
• Improve interface clarity, layout consistency, spacing, typography, and visual balance
• Apply strong product design judgment when simplifying complex ideas into usable design artifacts
• Review user journeys, flows, screens, and interaction patterns for usability and coherence
• Evaluate whether design concepts support intuitive user behavior and clear product outcomes
• Provide clear written feedback that improves design quality and product experience
• Maintain consistency, detail, and design rigor across submitted work

Skills

• 3+ years of experience in product design, UX design, UI design, interaction design, visual design, or related fields
• Experience at a recognized technology company, high-growth startup, design-led product team, or comparable environment
• Strong ability to create product mockups and evaluate product design quality
• Hands-on expertise with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, or comparable design tools
• Experience providing user experience, user journey, and product design feedback
• Strong visual taste, attention to detail, and ability to assess design quality clearly
• Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment
• Academic backgrounds in product design, UX design, HCI, interaction design, visual communication, graphic design, computer science, media, psychology, or related fields may be relevant
• Portfolio-based experience, formal design training, or equivalent professional product design experience may be especially valuable
• Advanced design, UX, or product-related training may be helpful depending on project scope
• Strong portfolio showcasing product mockups, UX flows, interface design, mobile or web products, or design systems
• Experience reviewing AI-assisted or structured design drafts
• Background in UI/UX, product strategy, branding, visual design, design systems, or user research
• Familiarity with Figma components, design systems, prototyping, usability heuristics, accessibility-informed design, and product critique
• Experience working with product, research, technical, or data-heavy design contexts
