[Remote] SAP IS-U Billing Functional Lead Consultant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking an SAP IS-U Billing Functional Lead Consultant on behalf of our client in Remote. This role is ideal for an experienced SAP IS-U professional with deep expertise in Billing and Rate Configuration, who will lead the functional design, configuration, and implementation of SAP IS-U Billing solutions for a greenfield project.
Responsibilities
- Lead the functional design, configuration, and deployment of SAP IS-U Billing and Rate Management solutions
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to utility billing, tariffs, pricing, invoicing, and customer billing processes
- Configure SAP IS-U Billing components, including: Rate Determination, Rate Categories, Billing Schemas, Operands and Facts, Rate Steps and Variants, Tariffs and Pricing Structures, Billing Master Data, Invoice Processing
- Design and implement complex billing rules, rate models, and pricing structures
- Perform fit-gap analysis and recommend best practices aligned with utility industry standards
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end billing solutions
- Develop functional specifications for custom enhancements, interfaces, reports, and forms
- Support integrations with SAP FI-CA, Customer Service, Device Management, CRM, and S/4HANA
- Assist with data migration activities related to billing master data, rate structures, and customer accounts
- Execute unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and support issue resolution
- Provide user training, documentation, knowledge transfer, and post-go-live support
- Participate in solution workshops, design reviews, project planning, and deployment activities
Skills
- 8+ years of SAP IS-U Functional Consulting experience
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP IS-U Billing and Rate Configuration
- Proven experience independently configuring SAP IS-U Billing solutions from the ground up
- Experience with at least one full-cycle SAP IS-U implementation project
- Strong understanding of utility industry billing and customer service processes
- Hands-on experience with rate determination, billing schemas, operands, facts, rate categories, tariffs, pricing structures, billing master data, and invoice processing
- Experience preparing functional specifications and collaborating with ABAP development teams
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead functional workshops and work effectively with both business and technical teams
- Experience with greenfield SAP IS-U implementation projects
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Utilities integration
- Experience integrating SAP IS-U with FI-CA, Device Management, Customer Service, and CRM modules
- Previous experience leading functional workstreams in enterprise utility transformation projects
